yup. lolx. great to be back home. though that means that i would be greeted with nothing less then LOTS of stuffs to mug. yeah well. whatever.
thats for later. as in tmr or something.
well shall obviously post about the ot. can't really remember all that happened but yeah well. shall talk abit about that that i did . lol. that that. o0.
hmms. the most of us met at fish n co before the actual ot. yeah well like a parting dinner before the ot...nice food before lotsa biscuits and stuffs...so it was quite weird lah...one large group of people. hahas. lugging huge bags into the place. blah. after a nicedinner we went off to farrer park to get our bus outta singapore. and into perak.
blah. then nxt day arrived. took a 4wheel drive trip to the mountain area . hahas. 4wheel drives ROCKS. scary stuffs hahas. but exciting.
started the climb after a breakfast of prata. i wonder who paid for it. coz i din. lol. so we started off in our climbing pairs. hmmm if i'm not wrong it was yongsheng and huihui infront of me audrey and stella and potato behind us.
well to say that we weren't ready for the mountain would be an understatement.
we totally din know what to expect and we got a rude shock by the first attack.
well. hahas someone screamed lah. forgot who but yeah it was then that the leeches begun their seige on us odacers.
well having the rare and untasty blood that i do. i din really get much leech bites through the day. well 1 or 2...or so i thought.
but audrey on the other hand...ouch >.<. there was once where 4 leeches were attached to her leg at once. could see that she was on the verge of tears at times. but well. we had to pull through. there wasn't a choice. it was go forward or go nowhere. so we pressed on together. but seriously. the first day wasn't to be a good one. and it ended off with a downpour. in which many of us had torn ponchos. yep me included. along the way i sorta got broken up from audrey. dunno where she went. and ended up at the very end. chionging with mr ang and 2 guides or something.well i remembered this part coz i kept slipping up on my poncho. it wasn't really that easy to walk in a poncho.but i was grateful for the insulation i got. yepp. pitched up the tents in the rain. and went to collect water with liwen weiqin and yongsheng.
was freezing . literally. i was chattering lah.BRRRRR. that night was the worst one. yupp. but being in the same tent as pao fanfan and jon hahas.
me and pao were complaining nonstop to no one in particular. yepp. and we were all having thoughts about not continuing. yeahhh...and when we were about to sleep. hahas. fanzhe updated me on something. well he had observed that my back was bloodied. and true to his words. i realized i had been leeched there. hahas.
nxt day we got up and broke camp...before starting our ascent ALL the way to the top...i have to say this. i was mentally tested that day. as in really mentally tested. we trekked for a really long time. and the hardest part of the trail was on that day. . as in really steep areas and all. that we had to literally scale up. they were almost vertical lah. audrey almost fell off the really narrow area too. but fortunately me and fanzhe was nearby. pulled her back on and continued. was really very scary lah. it's not everyday you're confronted with a life and death situation. luckily for me i was there. went i saw her go over i din really think about anything. maybe it was instinct. juz reached out and grabbed her. or maybe it's juz human nature.. it was a heartstopping version of deja vu. the day before stella was in the exact same situation. except that she din really fall off before i grabbed her and pulled her back on. so i have to say this. mountains are not meant to be trifled with.
after a freaking long day. we heard from the guide that there was juz another 1/2 hour to go before we reached the peak. we somewhat lightened hearts we pushed ourselves. juz to be confronted with a overly long hike. audrey was really about to give in. i knew that. i din show it but i have to admit. i too was about to give up. despite me going on about that theres only a few more minutes left and all. the track seemed endless.the sky was darkening. bblah blah. giving up was a mere step away. i know this may sound all noble and all. but well. i told myself not to show it. for if i were to give up. what would happen to my climbing partner. so i tried to concentrate on following the front person. in the end we did make it up. mentally and physically exhausted. and we pitched our tents in the dark again. our tent was lucky...or unlucky enough to miss out on pasta. coz we were kinda faraway and din hear the mask who din get pasta yet. . so we kinda sruvived on fruit loops(from FZ) and some cans. frozen chunky is quite disgusting i assure u. but we survived.
the next day we went back down...but it started sorta badly for the back pack. as in the lagging pack. we were led by pao and xinhui. we lost our way(really minor lost...ahahas) and all and ended up trekking for around 4 hours nonstop? hahas before we reached lunch point. where we had a 10 min lunch. at lunch point we realized we were 45mins lagging behind. the front pack already had a what? 40 min break? hahas. and it was their 4 stop of the day. whereas it was our first. ouch. we were really very tired and all but we had to push our selves after lunch. hahas. i was proud to say that we certainly did that. confidence! hahas was cheering nonstop during that period i think. coz behind me was yongsheng. and behind him was dennis. with pao infront. hahas. and the four of us were like crazily going JIAYOU ODAC! ODAC ALL THE WAY. ODAC OI! ODAC OI! ODAC ODAC SA SA OI!. hahas. yeppp we cheered out hearts out and ran ourselves out too. and keep up we did. =). but keeping up was not for long. after the next water break we lagged lots again. coz of the most diffiuclt part of the trail again. yep and this time we were going down. scary. and there was a huge test of confidence. walking across that huge log. glad to say that me and audrey made it through without much problems! hahas. our confidence was growing with each day hahas..den we chionged to the end ...it was the first time we made it to camp before nitefall. hahas. and WE HAD PASTA!. hahas...shall certainly be one of the more memorable parts of my trip. set there in the glow of the kerosene lamps with the cooking i's. with sorta wet weather around..huddled around the huge indian pot of fanfan's...and having pasta together. hahas...it was really...i dunno how to put it..but it was a warm feeling.=).thanks cooking i's. u guys and girls rock.
the next day we chionged the rest of the way down. hahas. with the unending low branche that stood in my way...or more like my forehead's way. hahas. but i made it in the end. with a milo fest at the waterfall point..hahas..finishing up our mobile food knowing we were going into town on that very day. hahas. we were all inspired to push ourselves to the max..coupled with the fact that we had the easiest part of the trail left haha. we made it before our target! yepp.
can't really describe the feeling of elation that we all shared. somethings can't be put in words i guess. we had korbu conquered. and we knew it. hahas.
well with the time we had to spare we went for a dip in the gentle are of the river...hahas...where we sang songs together...tried to whiney whiney..hahas...sand peng you together with the guys...cheered our hearts out..the victorian anthem....korbu remix..hahas. anyways. yep.
and we took off to robin hotel that awaited us in ipoh.
after we finally did arrive...well the bus kinda took a LOOONNNNGGG time to arrive and all. slow.
we went on a crazy food binge. at least i did hahas. and at the same time watched argentina rout serbia 6-0. ouch. but the food was great. and cheap. and blah. hahas. ended the day with a ...sorta disturbing session with a bunch of us...in ys and ki's room. hahas..its funny how our convo always moved to stuffs about the supernatural and all. hmms. yeah well slept around 3 hours before going for breakfast in the morning.
hahas. we had breakfast at the only shop that was open in the vincinity. hahas. but i had half boiled egg! yeahhh so happy. hahas . was somewhat craving for one. lol.
thereafter we went to white water raft. hahas. my group consisted of alvin yuanli sara mr seet and i. hahas.
had the water 'confidence' thingy. where we had to let ourselve float down stream through a small portion of rapids before the actualy rafting. hahas. oh yeah alvin lost his specs lens before it began -.- lol. but yeah it was fun. and i certainly didn't know it was gonna be a prelude to what would come later. hahas. when the actual rafting began. well i fell out of the raft twice and floated down a much larger portion of the river then i had expected. one of the falls was over alvin and into the water too. how cool. and i hit a rock with my back. it was quite ouch i must say. hahas. after that we took a trip in the deck of a lorry...do u call that a deck?. hhaahas. and we invented..or was kinda forced to invent a game. dodging branches. hahas. testing our reflexes. the slow me got caught by a thorny bush. and OUCh it was...imagine being caught while the lorry was speeding past. haahs. my left shoulder was raked. literally. but being the thick skinned person i was...there was little evidence of any injury =). hahas. we were greeted with a paranomic view along the way..hahas..O0 LOOK the clouds are in the water! hahas...and we discovered that tyres are harder then durians...our ride crushed a druian flat along the way. and we arrived for lunch! haha. which was sorta a buffet. mr seet spoke the truth!. hahahs . lol. after that there was caving in some guano filled cave..yepp..and we thought korbu was over. we were wrong agian . lol. we had a korbu like slide down and area in the cave. lucky for me weiqin was there. it wasn't exaclty that easy with audrey's huge torch. i guess that was another reason why her bag was so heavy.but i made it through. with a little help from monster and alvin. hahas. after that was a series of really low limestone ceilings that hit me in the head a few times. ouch. rock is really hard. coz i got hit by branches on korbu and the broke. but i hit the rocks in the cave and it felt like my head broke instead. hahas. crawled through some REALLY low ceilings. blah. before exiting along a river. hahas. yepp. that was to be the end of the ot proper. or the start of the shopping proper. whichever way u want to put it. hahas. we went to some parkson grand shopping mall in ipoh ...after washing up of course. and me and yongsheng started on a freaking hunt to buy stuffs fro our angel and mortals. HEY s34. i'msorry for not getting u guys stuffs. but i really din bring along money. din expect to spend nearly 30 rm on food on the first dinner alone. i ate THAT much. seeing that it was spent at a hawer centre. and we had a really embarrasing situation which i shall not say . u can ask me if u wanna noe. hahas. had a good laugh after it.
after a frantic last minute scramble to buy stuffs we eventually managed to get what we wanted.
well here's a list of things a got.. a handphone holder for my angel xiaoyun. shared with szehan. and bottle of cranes and stars for my mortal. jasmine. and a smiley pair of socks for audrey. hahs. and poser bands all around.well me and ys got the paper to fold the stuffs and we finished it on the bus. hahas. really tired. i was folding cranes in the dark. so dun mind me if they were abit outta shape=/ sry jasmine. hahas. ended back at vjc at 3+ in the morning. had a sleep on the canteen table until 7.30. where we began cleaning up. hahas. washing tents and ruber mats is boring and wet. especially if u wear a long track pants like me. had mcdelivery for breakfast. and a little prata courtesy of mr seet. hahas. after the debrief we were dismissed...and home we went. after all the prata and all lahs. huhui won the most 'sexy' legs award...feel knda sorry for her.
hahahs...thats essentially what iremember most about the ot lohs. well . as mr seet said during the debrief...we shld learn something from the ot. and all. hahas.. i did.
i learnt lots from everyone around .yeah u all mattered and were there with me when the mountain really tested me.
to my tent mates. hahas. thanks for sharing the tent with me. =) we certainly enjoyed those suppers a guess. hahas. yeah and to pao. hahas. you're mentally strong although u don't sound like it. lolx>.<. hahas thanks for the theme R E N. that defintely helped me through the climb. r . e . n. =D. fanzhe. hahas din knw u talked so much. thought u were the really quiet type lol. guess i learnt more about u during the camp hahas. looking forward to more crappy stuffs from ya.hahas. and to jon for juz being there.
to my climbing partner . hey. you're not mentally weak. don't tell urself that. no mentally weak person will be able to make it through such a hard mountain. i'm happy to say that your confidence definitely improved by the day. =D. yepp. guess what can't kills u makes u stronger. hahas like pao says..so we're all one korbu stronger now . proud of u and thanks. for being there when i needed.
